2014 Walden Reserve Christmas Party

Christmas Party News:

In other news we are in the process of finalizing a Christmas Party on the second Sunday in December (12/14/14).  Our goal is to start the party around 4:00 PM wrap it up around 8:00 PM. The Board felt that a Sunday afternoon party would be better attended than a weeknight party as most of us work on weekdays and a Friday / Saturday party could invade an already busy Holiday schedule.

Our idea is to have a progressive pot luck “driveway event”. We would like to see an appetizer driveway, main course driveway, a desert driveway and a final “can food drive” driveway. All of this is in its early stages and is subject to change slightly but at least you have the general idea of what we are trying to accomplish. One of the things that I think would be fun for the adults and kids is to sing a few Christmas Carols.

Erica and I will offer out our drive way for the “can food” part of our night. My goal is to see how much can goods / dry food goods we can collect. We are all so extremely blessed and I think it would be terrific for us to help those who could use it during the Holidays. All food that we will collect will be donated to the United Food Bank of Plant City. To learn more about this terrific organization please view their website at http://ufbpc.org/

We figured we would try the driveway party as there are now to many of us to fit in people’s homes. What we need are a few families to offer up their “drive ways”. If any of you would like to volunteer your driveway please email me and I’ll add you to this list of driveway volunteers. Once we get enough driveway volunteers I will email the community so that you will all be kept in the loop.

We will also need those who attend to bring food. If we are lucky enough to receive similar participation as we did for Halloween party than I would think we will have plenty of food, drink and most importantly people to exchange Christmas Cheer! We will also need a few nonalcoholic drinks such as tea, sodas and water. This will also be a BYOB event.

We  will also need  tables, chairs, paper goods etc. Once we get this thing organized it is my hopes that the men in the community can help with set up and tear down once we know where we need to stage all the tables etc.

As for now please save the date Sunday 12/14/14 for the “Walden Reserve Christmas Party” 4:00 – 8:00 PM.

I will be emailing out an evite (emailed invitation) in the very near future. The great thing about an evite is that once you select  your attendance, you will then be able to see how many of us will make it. We will also be able to make comments as to what you are willing to bring etc. This will be helpful in the planning of food, beverages, etc. The purpose of all of this is to have fun and fellowship in one another. I really hope you can make it!

Have a great night!
